Everyone has had a bad experience in hair and makeup at one point in their life. At Lisa Fowler Hair + Makeup, I tailor my approach to help you become the best version of yourself on your wedding day or for your special event.

I am here to answer your questions.

Do I need to have a trial before my wedding and when should I book it?

I would certainly recommend having a trial before your wedding date so that all the finer details are taken care of at this appointment. It will help make your day seamless and relaxing. All of your ideas will begin to come to life here! Book your trial as soon as possible - ideally between 4-6 weeks out from your wedding date.

What products do you use?

I only use premium products. Over the years I have tried many products and continue to use only the ones that I LOVE. These include MAC, Laura Mercier, Hourglass, Element Two, Benefit, Urban Decay, Stila and Becca Cosmetics. I will use a combination of these to create a look that is unique to you.

How do I prepare my hair and skin prior to my wedding day?

I have created a checklist which is sent to you at the time of your booking that provide you with all of the details surrounding preparation for your wedding day. It covers questions such as  "How long before my wedding should I have my hair coloured?" and "When should I have my brows waxed or my lashes tinted?". It also includes a timeline for you to make your preparations as smooth as possible.

What is the difference between airbrush and traditional makeup?

Airbrush makeup is a delivery system/technique for your foundation. This technique provides, durable long lasting results. I am able to create a light, medium or full coverage for you that is kiss proof and rub proof. Traditional makeup allows me to work with all skin types to give you the finish that you would prefer - dewy/glowing, polished or coverage for problem skin types. We can decide after consulting with you what will be best for your desired look.

Should I tan before my wedding day?

Many brides choose to tan for their wedding day. If you a using a self tanner, remember to experiment well before the day to determine the correct amount required to gain your desired look. If you are attending a professional tanning studio, it is still a good idea to have an application well before your day, otherwise you risk the look of unnatural colour or even an allergic reaction. Have your tan done at least 2 days before your day and have a light coat on your face for the perfect colour match.

How many people can you accommodate for hair and makeup?

I can look after as many people as you would like - I have worked on parties as small as 2 up to 10. If required I will provide extra experienced stylists/artists that will work with me as your lead stylist/artist at no cost to you.

How long will my hair + makeup take on my wedding day?

If you allow around 1hr 15 mins for both services per person. I will do all hair first, to allow for softening and then all makeup, to keep it fresh. As the bride, I will look after you around the end of the timeline for your hair and around the middle of the timeline for your makeup. This will ensure that you are available when your flowers, photographer etc. are arriving.
