‘Love Story’ Paul + Jessica

Once upon a time a girl named Jess met a boy named Paul….

After a long afternoon celebrating at her best friend’s hens party, Jess ran into a group of local mates and was introduced to their friend Paul - her future husband.

For the first few years these love birds spent their weekends between Sydney (where Paul worked) and The Hunter Valley. Travelling and living out of a suitcase wasn’t easy for the couple, however ‘it was all worth it.’ says Jess.

Paul was preparing to propose to his love and suggested a relaxing week away in Fiji, the perfect getaway for them both.

He had a planned a romantic dinner at the Flying Fish restaurant on the beach. ‘it was so secluded and peaceful’ Jess recalls.

It was time to start planning the wedding.

Paul and I had always enjoyed the idea of a long lunch that rolled into the night’ Jess says.

Having grown up in The Hunter Valley on her family’s vineyard Jess knew this was definitely the place they would enjoy their celebrations. She worked with The Wedding Designers Director Jessica Coleman to create a glass greenhouse which would compliment the landscape of vines and mountains. ‘The use of natural wood and green with chandelier lighting produced a truly magical vibe’ Jess reflects.

The ceremony was held at Sacred Spaces in Singleton, ‘which is an unforgettable space’ she says.

The long lunch created by Bistro Molines was an exquisite European inspired feast with the family’s own McLeish wines flowing for the afternoon/evening. With the formalities finishing around 7pm it left guests time to party along to a live band underneath the stars.

When I asked Jess what she loved about their wedding day, it was ‘getting ready in the family home where she could view the whole reception space transforming - it was pure joy’ she says.

The most unbelievable part of our day was our wedding dance. It was the song, I’m Gonna Be by The Proclaimers. All of our family and friends joined us on the dance floor and completely rocked out to the band’

You gotta dance like there’s nobody watching. Love like you will never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like its’s heaven on earth.
